Colston Tower is situated in the heart of Bristol’s city centre and has provided open plan office accommodation since 1973. It’s height and location means it boasts panoramic views of the city. In 2014, Resolution Property began plans to renovate the building alongside Childs+Sulzmann Architects to transform it into a modern dynamic working space.
The new reception area will consist of vibrant communal areas, meeting pods and break out spaces making it an ideal co-working environment. 299 Lighting worked with Childs+Sulzmann Architects to specify the lighting scheme for the reception area. Lopen LED linear profiles will be used for the main circulation area, surface mounted onto the ceiling in an interconnected pattern. The Lopen LED profiles are high efficiency fixtures, therefore providing excellent light output with low power consumption. The new Cycle Hub situated at the lower ground floor will also be illuminated with surface mounted Lopen LED profiles.
LEDS-C4 vintage style decorative pendants will be suspended above the podium area within the reception. The urban grey finish with accents of red compliments the vibrant style of the interior. 299 Lighting also supplied the LED box fittings that will provide decorative and directional lighting above the steps leading to the mezzanine area.
The lighting was supplied on time and to the satisfaction of the client. Keep an eye on our projects page for images of the finished result!
