Earlier in 2015, we were approached directly by the client to help replace their lighting for their training room.
Based in Hertfordshire, Road Tech is an innovative fast growing company offering integrated software solutions for the transport industry.
The company’s headquarters is situated at Shenley Hall, an impressive period building, where the client has just refurbished the tired training room facilities.
The client’s brief was to utilise the existing wiring to save time and cost. The spacious training room has high ceilings and a contemporary feel.
We provided lighting calculations and 3D design, which helped the client to visualise the final effect of the lighting. The new lighting was supplied to the budget and time schedule. The client is happy and we enjoyed seeing the photo of the finished project.
The grand ceilings allowed impressive large scale suspended light fittings, however the existing wiring restricted the possibility to dim.
299 Lighting assisted the client with the technical issues and design. Our team suggested using the suspended Cole luminaire with 650mm diameter and anodised finish.
The direct and indirect light distribution was ideal for the high ceiling of the training room. To illuminate the walls and bring a visual interest to the room, the Caleo W3 in anodised silver was proposed.

Thank you to 299 Lighting for the lighting in our Training Room. I was set with the task of redecorating our very tired facility. I quickly selected tables, flooring and seating but I knew lighting was the "make or break" element. This took the longest time to research, several months in fact. Then I came across the 299 website and it was the very best thing that could have happened.
The lighting solution I was looking that (and I was on the brink of purchasing) would have been 4 times the price of the 299 offering, lacked the cohesiveness and style of the 299 one and would have been inappropriate for the area.
Matthew from 299 did a very efficient fact finding exercise, every minute detail taken into account, such as weight of light on the ceiling, whether we would have the scope to rewire to incorporate a dimming option, what sort of furniture and technology would be in the room and any subsequent glare issues that might arise.
He studied the room schematic and his first submission was perfect and has been implemented. The room gets a wow from absolutely every visitor and that is down to the lighting. The emission of light is perfect. I cannot thank you all enough. Special thanks to Matthew. Brilliant and amazing and what a nice young man to boot!
