Horton Skoda in Lincoln opened the doors of the new showroom in the early days of January 2017. The £1.2 m redevelopment transformed the brand and offered the state of the art facilities to staff and customers.
Our team worked directly with the client and delivered office lighting for this impressive show room. Photos are courtesy of Horton Skoda.
Established in 1954 as a car mechanics and petrol station, the Dennis Horton and Son family business has been growing from strength to strength, offering increasingly more car related services. When the business took over the Skoda dealership in the Lincoln area in the early nineties, things started to accelerate quickly. 60 years in and the year 2017 has seen an impressive £ 1.2 million redevelopment of their showroom in Lincoln and our team was a part of it.
The transformation of the Dennis Horton Skoda Car Dealership in Lincoln was a 30-week project including major external and internal works. The works consisted of extension to the workshop at the rear with new cladding, roofing and workshop doors, digging out and laying the car park and parking bays, extension of the frontage including installation of glass curtain walling, external cladding with branding positioned, complete internal decoration and fit out.
Our team was approached directly with the request of helping to design a modern lighting scheme for the main office in November 2016.
The design brief was for modern and efficient lighting that would provide good quality light, comply with all regulations and reflect the brand. This was a fast-paced project, and we provided a fantastic lighting scheme to the client's satisfaction.
We have supported the client with full lighting design and calculations and offered several product options to achieve the desired design. The client chose the OKA SUSPENDED fitting as the main office lighting. The Oka has all the attributes for setting a new standard for linear office lighting.
Designed with attention to detail, it will impress all with clean lines and comfortable low glare light. With its 60mm deep frame and wide body, the Oka defines architectural spaces, making a visual presence even when switched off. The client chose a white finish and the high-efficiency version of the luminaire.
The RYDAL SUSPENDED fitting has been supplied as feature luminaire to compliment the design. The chosen finish was silver, and the 950mm diameter fitting is substantial enough to make a strong visual impact. The Rydal’s can be admired from the showroom, creating a modern and bold backdrop, and contributing to the visual experience of the space.
