PALM TREE COURT LONDON
14th of July 2017
A property investment company based in a trendy part of London approached Loved Interiors with a request to design and project manage the fitout of their new office. The 3000 ft2 office space was obtained and transformed to suit the specific client's requirements.
Our team worked with designers at Loved Interiors and delivered office lighting for the contemporary office space. Photos are courtesy of Francesco Russo.
Acquired with the aim of creating an inspirational office space for themselves and potentially fitting an additional office space for a tenant, the 3000 ft2 workspace has seen a major refurbishment and re-design with flexibility in mind. Both the client and tenant areas were connected with an entrance lobby, corridor, toilets and kitchen. The main office included a reception area, meeting rooms, board room, kitchen and a bathroom. The tenant's area is a 1100 ft2 open plan Cat A space allowing boyth flexibility and practicality.
Approached by workspace designers at Loved Interiors, we supported the team with product specification, full lighting design, calculations and working samples. The designer had a look and feel in mind, but had to work to a tight deadline and a strict budget.
THE DESIGN BRIEF FOR THE PROJECT WAS...
Suspended linear lighting which complemented the clean aesthetics with exposed services that would also work with retro pendants at the same time. The Palm Tree Court boasts plenty of daylight and a bright, airy feel. Design aside, the quality of the light and the low glare was of importance to the client.
To achieve a bold design scheme, the OKA SUSPENDED was used through the whole scheme in matt black finish. The OKA will impress the design purist with its design and quality build and equipped with a diamond shaped microprismatic diffuser, it distributes a low glare, comfortable light.
Due to a short lead time, the standard size of 1200 mm was specified and delivered.
The office lighting was supplied to a tight 4-week delivery time in July 2017, using the standard 1200mm size. The client was delighted with the result, which is a bold yet clean and comfortable lighting scheme.
THE DESIGNER'S VIEW
A FEW WORDS FROM RONNIE SCOTT - Designer & Project Manager at Loved Interiors
HOW DID YOU GET TO CHOOSE 299?
I came across 299 Lighting through an online search. I was looking for a knowledgeable and reliable lighting supplier.
I liked that 299's range was very focused on office spaces and very clean and contemporary. 299 also ensured that not only did the fittings fit our brief in terms of style, the team also supported the product with lighting design, Lux calculations to ensure that there was enough light achieved in the task areas.
PTC building had the advantage of being quite light and bright, so we also looked at glare levels. Budget was a big consideration for us and 299 were able to ensure that the supplied fittings achieved both the design brief and accommodated the budget.
