As our company was setup in Bristol and the head office is still based here, we have a close affinity with the city and take a keen interest in architecture and planning projects in the area.

The range of our projects varies from architectural feature lighting for reception areas, circulation areas in large office developments, general office lighting to lighting for offices in listed buildings. Regardless of the scale of the project, we love the feeling of putting our mark on the architecture of the city. The involvement of our team also varies from project to project. We work at our best when we are involved from the very early design stages and assist the client with full lighting design and lux level calculations. Some projects will need a site survey, others might require product specification and some might need consultation or product supply.

Every project is different, but our service is constant - we like to be involved and offer our technical advice.

Take a look at the 'smorgasbord' of the projects we have worked on to get a taste of what we are about!

We worked alongside the team of consultants at Ramboll on the product specification for the New Room visitor's centre at John Wesley's Chapel. The oldest Methodist building in the world has been transformed into a modern visitor's center with up-to-date educational facilities. The new architectural lighting plays a vital role in connecting the old with the new. This makes the project an efficient, yet visually attractive scheme with a bold architectural look.

Our expertise in large-scale lighting projects made us the perfect candidate to work alongside Child & Sulzmann to supply the architectural lighting for the reception area at the iconic Colston Tower in Bristol. Using a standard ceiling mounted product, we managed to create a very unique design for the reception area whilst working to a specific budget. Find out more about the project in the video case study.

Our team worked closely with the design team at Hoare Lea and guided them with product specification for the refurbishment of the office development at 740 Waterside drive in the premier business park Aztec West.  We supported the design team with lighting calculations and product samples. This was a fast turnaround project and the results are truly impressive. A modern linear lighting scheme sets the design of the reception area apart and makes a lasting impression.

In 2012, we were heavily involved with the major refurbishment of The Galleries in Bristol. The tired looking ground and first floor have been rejuvenated to a more vibrant, modern space. Our team worked closely with the lighting designers at Arup in Bristol to deliver a new lighting scheme for the Food court on the first floor.  The LED technology was just becoming a more viable option and this was our first major scheme in Bristol using the LED technology. The large disk lighting is delivering a visually attractive scheme.

Approached by consultants at Rambol, our team worked on a refurbishment of the main reception area of the Narrow Quay in 2015. Four large ring shaped luminaires were specified for the main reception area of this prestigious office development. Our team supported the team of consultants at Rambol from the initial stages of the project. The large luminaires enhance the modern architectural space and give the already impressive reception area a bold feature element.

We worked closely with GCP Architects on a creative scheme for the reception area of Bristol Water's headquarters in Bishopworth. Large suspended architectural lighting was specified for the double height atrium following the design brief for a contemporary luminaire with clean lines and high-quality light output. The new breakout space has a light and airy feel and the scheme enhances the modern architecture.

We are proud to have played a part in the refurbishment of the iconic office building at the Vintry Building. Working alongside the property management company and the contractor, we have been involved in the design process from the first stages right to the very end. We created a full lighting design and delivered a visually attractive contemporary Cat A scheme for the 2nd, 5th and 6th floor.

Visiting the site a few years later, we had an experience of an actual tenant using the space. The website designer and developer Fat Media styled their new office as a pirate boat. The new workplace is inspirational and vibrant, an ideal space for creative media type company.

Approached by the major international practice, Building Design Partnership, we worked on product specification for their new office at Hill Street in Bristol. BDP is involved with exciting projects all over the world, so our team was thrilled to be working with this creative design agency. A striking contemporary lighting scheme has been achieved using slim linear profiles blending into black ceilings in some parts of the space and white linear profiles mounted on white ceilings. The result is a bold monochrome office lighting scheme. Find out more about this project in the project case study.

Working alongside OEG interiors, we delivered new office lighting for Bristol Energy's new Hub.  Offering gas and electricity for domestic and business customers across Bristol, the energy provider promotes themselves as a friendly and approachable business, interested in the local community. The office fit out of the new Hub, a walk-in centre on the harbour, was accomplished in just 7 weeks. Our team supplied the new office lighting in time for the move to be as smooth as possible.

We also work on smaller, quirkier office projects. Approached directly by the client with the request for lighting design and sourcing of the right luminaires to work with the existing ceilings, we delivered a very interesting office lighting scheme for a listed property just off Corn Street. The vaulted ceilings presented the team with a few challenges, but the final scheme exceeded the client's expectations. When the creative design agency Epoch Design approached our team  to  help to design the lighting for their new office, we were excited to be working directly with the client. After the initial survey, we produced a lighting design and put a product proposal together. The listed building on Queens Square has very low ceilings and does not allow the use of the surface mounted lighting, let alone suspended luminaires. We put together a scheme based entirely on wall mounted luminaires.
