25 Wilton Road, London.

Premium Feature Lighting for Reception Area.

Project Summary:

Location: London
Sector: Mixed Use
Value: £14K
Duration: 3 Months
Client: Royal London Asset Management
Architect: Max Architects Lighting Designer: Into Lighting

The nine-storey scheme is part of the growing cluster of landmark buildings around Victoria station.

Owned by Royal London Asset Management and formerly known as the Parnell House, 25 Wilton Road is a bold and impressive £35 million highly sustainable mixed-use redevelopment scheme with a BREEAM rating.

Retaining the existing concrete structure and adding a bold new glass façade, the new design transformed the look of the building dramatically. The articulated bays considerably increase the lettable area and the light levels within a new set of six highly flexible and efficient office floor plates. The total office space adds up to 80,000 sq ft.

The scheme was designed by MAX Architects with the aim of rejuvenating a particularly tired site and fulfilling the client's brief for high-end mixed-use development. The client's vision was a modern scheme with a personality, character and colour.

MAX Architects specified the premium feature lighting for the reception area and the ground floor collaboration area. The striking Falling In was used across the whole ground floor area. The premium pendants designed by German designer Tobias Grau are tactile and have a distinctively organic shape associated with the idea of falling drop of water. The visually appealing optical lens allows an even and glare-free light distribution. The LED technology features comfortable light and superbly smooth dimming.

An impressive cluster of 25 drops were configured using the CHOICE system, with 2 custom suspension lengths at 3m and 6m. 12 more single drops of Falling In were installed above the reception area and in the collaboration area. All luminaires were supplied in a contemporary matte black finish.

Lighting has been delivered on time to the satisfaction of the client. The building was opened in September 2017 and we are delighted to see the finished interior!
