The recently completed refurbishment of 2 cafes operated by St. Monica Trust sees a total reinvention of 2,800 sq ft of hospitality space into a vibrant community hub. Designed by the Bristol based Studio EP and brought to life by WIDI Design and Hall Brothers, the 2 newly refurbished cafes offer a welcoming space to visitors and local community.

St. Monica Trust is a Bristol based charity offering support for older people in the South West region. To create a welcoming community on their retirement villages sites, the Trusts operate popular on- site cafes. Throughout the 2024, several of the cafes were refurbished and brought to the latest standard.

We were introduced to the project with a request to supply general lighting that would work with the proposed decorative lighting. Working closely with WIDI project team, our team managed to deliver high quality linear lighting made in the UK within the short project time scale.

Following the design brief and and achieving the recommended illumination levels, we proposed using linear LED lighting. Our technical team put forward the popular 60 mm linear profile Clyde Suspended direct/-indirect as the main luminaire. Achieving all recommended light guidelines, providing good quality light distribution, and lead times were absolute keys for this project. The Clyde is available on 2-3 weeks lead time, making it a great linear lighting for fast turnaround projects and also a sustainable choice.
