With office floor space totalling in excess of 200,000 sq ft, Caldecotte Lake Business Park is occupied by many National and International companies enjoying the benefits of excellent facilities, beautiful grounds and a convenient central location with excellent road, rail and air links.

Building 4, also known as Wenthworth House, has recently undergone an extensive refurbishment with a remodelled reception area and high-quality office accommodation over two floor plates of open plan space totalling approximately 21,348 sq ft.

Approached by the architectural practice Spratley & Partners in December 2017, we have been involved in designing the lighting scheme for this high spec Cat A refurbishment from the early design stages. The design team was later joined by two consultant teams working on behalf of the client and architect.

The 299 team have created the lighting layout and product specification for this Cat A office space refurbishment. Multiple site visits and product reviews have been carried out. Full lighting design, lux level calculations including the emergency lighting plan were produced alongside 3D renders of the space to help visualise the effect of the new office lighting.

For the general office lighting, the low glare suspended linear profile OKA Suspended was used across the entire space. The Oka’s high output allows less luminaires to be used to illuminate a space, which is ideal for achieving clean and minimalist design schemes. The fitting itself is also a great choice for installations wishing to provide comfortable low glare lighting. In the reception area, installed diagonally across the space, the lighting guides the visitors towards the reception desk.
The design of the OKA also compliments the halo fittings RYDAL Suspended which have been used as the main architectural feature lighting in the scheme. Both RYDAL and OKA enhance the black details of the interior design and the wooden joinery.

Architectural Lighting

In the stairwells, the designer selected the soft edge square fitting Tarras. It's fun, playful and ties in nicely with the rest of the lighting used in this project. Linear lighting profiles were used as wall lighting in the circulation areas and stairwells.All lighting was supplied in the contemporary matte black finish. 
The scheme boasts plenty of daylight thanks to the extensive refurbishment and remodelling.

The new office and architectural lighting was supplied over 2 stages to the satisfaction of the client. The result is an attractive high spec LG7 office lighting project, offering flexibility and efficiency to future tenants.
